Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B with a distinctive mix. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway through the Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta however, her ancestors are located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to grow as musician through playing guitar and singing in church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship within the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice,"Stalk You an House was only released in Japan. It has been re-mixed several times, and is the mainstay in her live performance. She has also contributed her singing in The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005she took on the role of the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to be the as the Director of Choral for Dreamgirls a theatre production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was at the center of attention for all of the country during 4 performances per day during 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine then went on to be asked to sing in the presence of President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
